Bob Osborn, chief technology officer for federal at ServiceNow (NYSE: NOW), has said that federal agencies should implement a œservice-aware capability to understand security risks and increase awareness of real-time computing boundaries as they receive and process data derived from internet-connected devices.
Osborn wrote that agencies seeking to maintain contextual risk awareness and gain real-time visibility should adopt platform-based applications that work to leverage artificial intelligence, automation and service-aware configuration management database.
He also advised agencies to keep pace with the latest technology tools and field a platform designed to deliver enterprise-class cloud applications through the adoption of a subscription-based model to the acquisition process.
Osborn also discussed how machine learning and AI platforms help drive the service-aware enterprise and allow agencies to manage their internet-of-things initiatives.
œThe service-aware enterprise must recognize the device, its location and its owner™s authority to access various data from our computing environment, he added.
