September 21st Market Close: GovConIndex Closes Up as Major Indices Close Down

The Executive Mosaic GovCon Index (GCI) continued to move up in posting its fifth consecutive day of gains. The CGI closed at 105.814 up 0.377 percent with advancing shares outpacing declining 3 to 1.

The S&P500 and DJIA ended their prolonged streak of gains to close in the negative today. The S&P500 ended the day at 2,500.60 down 0.30 percent, while the DJIA pulled back 0.24 percent to 22,359.23, and the NASDAQ Composite was down 0.52 percent to 6,422.69.

Crude oil continued its positive direction to remain above the $50 mark with WTI on the NY Mercantile Exchange closing up 0.06 percent to $50.72 per barrel.
