Christopher Day, former chief technology officer at Packet Forensics, has joined Invincea as chief information security officer of the Fairfax, Virginia-based malware detection and prevention software developer.
The more than 20-year information security professional will be responsible for implementing Invincea’s cybersecurity strategies for customers in the commercial and government sectors, the company said Wednesday.
Invincea founder and CEO Anup Ghosh said Day’s cybersecurity expertise will help the company to engage in discussions meant to address enterprise security challenges CISOs face.
Day also has a background in security audits, vulnerability assessments, computer forensics and secure systems design services for multiple Fortune 1000 companies, government agencies and financial services firms.
Before Packet Forensics, he was chief security architect at Terramark Worldwide (Nasdaq: TMRK), where he helped establish the IT firm’s information security practice prior to the company’s acquisition by Verizon (NYSE: VZ).
He served as control staff in the White House National Security Council’s 2012 National Level Exercise on cybersecurity issues and has served on the Defense Department‘s Defense Science Board since 2013.
