The Senate on Thursday confirmed Jay Scott Goldstein, mobilization assistant to the U.S. Air Force undersecretary, for promotion to the rank of major general, GovCon Wire has learned.
In his current role, Goldstein helps the undersecretary oversee the service branchs annual budget, policy and strategy development, weapons acquisition, human resource management, technology investments and risk management efforts.
He started his military career in the U.S. Army and then moved to the Air Force in 1990. He previously served as mobilization assistant to the commander at Air Forces Cyber, Space and Missile Systems Center and the Air Force Research Laboratory; deputy director of the joint reserve directorate within the office of the assistant secretary of defense for research and engineering; director of ISR special access programs within the Joint Staff; and chief of flight safety at the National Reconnaissance Office.
Goldstein has over three decades of government contracting experience. He has held P&L responsibilities, C-Suite and technical leadership roles in the private sector.
