Scale AI, a San Francisco, California-based company that aims to accelerate the development of artificial intelligence applications, has secured a $99.5 million contract from the U.S. Army for the procurement of research and development services.
R&D Contract Details
The Department of Defense said Thursday the Army Contracting Command at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Adelphi, Maryland, solicited proposals for the firm-fixed-price contract through an internet solicitation and received 11 bids. The contracting office will determine work locations and funding with each individual order. The project is slated to be completed by Aug. 20, 2030.
Prior Award
The company secured a similar $90.8M contract from the Army in September 2020. Under the deal, Scale AI was tasked with conducting research to develop scientific approaches for establishing a methodological base enabling the Department of Defense to experiment with and produce annotated datasets for advanced AI and machine learning systems.
