SandboxAQ, a spinoff of Google’s parent Alphabet (Nasdaq: GOOGL), has booked an other transaction agreement from the Defense Information Systems Agency to develop a cryptographic technology prototype intended to protect against quantum computing-based security threats.
Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) and Deloitte will respectively offer DevSecOps and software platforms as subcontractors on the cryptography public key infrastructure project, SandboxAQ said Tuesday.
The effort will apply a security suite SandboxAQ designed to help organizations manage current and future sensitive data cybersecurity.
DISA chose the software company to carry out the prototype project after a three-phase solicitation process.
“This first-of-its-kind program offers a pathway to protect DISA networks and data through follow-on deployments to wider architectures,” said Jen Sovada, president of SandboxAQ’s public sector business.
Sovada added the company aims to help U.S. government customers automate and secure IT assets from the potential threats of quantum computing technology.
