Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) will provide a cloud-based application factory to the Space Development Agency under a $64 million contract.
The factory is intended to host battle management command, control and communications software apps that will support SDA’s low-Earth orbit satellite constellation, the company said Thursday.
Under the contract, SAIC will help the agency manage the software development and hosting environment for an LEO constellation, dubbed the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture.
“The BMC3 component of the PWSA is transformational for the Department of Defense and the country,” said Michael LaRouche, president of SAIC’s national security and space sector.
He added that the company intends to combine C2, cloud and space technology integration services to support the agency.
