He will lead the projects of SAIC focused on data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning aimed at helping government clients address climate’s effect on land, air, sea and wildlife, the company said Thursday.
Ambrose previously served as the senior adviser and program manager at General Dynamics‘ (NYSE: GD) information technology business, where he assisted scientific modeling and application development efforts for the Environmental Protection Agency.
In his 25-year stint at NOAA, he held several roles including physical scientist, meteorologist and manager of satellite data operations.
Ambrose also worked at NASA, helping earth science missions as the aerospace engineer study manager and serving as program manager for disasters, homeland security and water resources.
Bob Genter, president of SAIC’s defense and civilian sector, noted how climate change has become one of the major challenges today and government groups are at the front lines to address the issues.
“Stephen brings a wealth of experience and expertise to SAIC as we continue to help our customers rise to this challenge with solutions scaled to meet all levels of climate and disaster risk and adaptation,” he said.
