SAIC Books $133M Navy Systems Integration, Operational Support Contract; Jim Scanlon Quoted

Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) has received a potential five-year, $133M U.S. Navy contract to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center’s engineering and technical work involving electronic warfare and sensor systems in Crane, Ind.

SAIC said Thursday it will provide systems integration, engineering and technical services to the U.S. Navy component in support of its Maneuver, Engagement and Surveillance Systems Division.

The contract, which includes a one-year base period and four one-year extension options, also covers analysis and modeling, logistics, inventory management and quality assurance support for NSWC Crane’s tactical intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance technologies.

Systems, subsystems and components covered by the award include command and control, communications, mobility, ground sensor and information platforms.

Jim Scanlon, executive vice president and general manager of SAIC’s defense systems group, said the company is looking forward to continuing its more than three-decade support for NSWC Crane activities.

NSWC Crane’s operations fall under the Naval Sea Systems Command and include system- and component-level industrial engineering work for special warfare technologies, electronics and other strategic platforms.
