Sabel Systems Technology Solutions has launched a digital laboratory dedicated to developing new capabilities for federal and commercial customers. Called the Sabel Digital Labs, the new vertical within the Sabel Systems enterprise will focus on digital engineering environment enablement, digital sustainment, digital acquisition and digital operations.

Sabel Systems appointed Chris Sharbaugh to lead Sabel Digital Labs. Sharbaugh serves as corporate vice president of technology, a role he has held since July. He joined Sabel Systems in 2012.
Before Sabel, the executive served as principal adviser to the director of transformation at the U.S. Air Force. His resume also includes positions at Morgan Borszcz Consulting, GE Infrastructure, Bearingpoint and KPMG.
Michael Baker, who was recently named as chief technology officer at Sabel Systems, will work with Sharbaugh to lead Sabel Digital Labs.
Baker has been with Sabel Systems since 2022. He previously held the role of director of product lifecycle management and digital engineering at the company.
Previously, he was at Jet Aviation for nearly nine years. Baker also served as PLM subject matter expert for the Air Force earlier in his career.
Matt Blackmon, chief product officer, round up Sabel Digital Labs’ executive team. Blackmon brings to the role an extensive experience in the technology sector.
Before joining Sabel Systems in July, he was at Bell Flight for over three years. He also held leadership roles at pinkBrain Technologies, DataArt, Syniverse, Switchfly, Transdev North America and other companies.
