Sabel Systems Technology Solutions has acquired Centil as part of a push to reinforce its digital engineering capabilities and broaden its ability to support defense and commercial space missions.
Sabel said Tuesday the transaction marks its second acquisition since Sagewind Capital made a majority investment in the company in October.
Expanding Digital Engineering Capabilities
“This acquisition brings together two teams that excel at solving complex engineering challenges and turning them into mission-ready solutions,” said Sabel Systems CEO Shawn Purvis.
“Centil’s deep space-domain expertise combined with our digital engineering ecosystem strengthens our ability to deliver integrated, high-impact solutions for every customer we serve,” added Purvis, a four-time Wash100 awardee who took on her current role at Sabel Systems in early 2025.
In August, Sabel Systems launched a digital engineering lab for government and commercial customers.
In November, the company and Edge Total Intelligence expanded their strategic partnership to advance the deployment of digital engineering and digital twin platforms across vehicle defense manufacturing, maritime and other warfighting domains.
KippsDeSanto & Co. and Sparks Wilson acted as Centil’s financial adviser and legal counsel, respectively, in the transaction. Goodwin Proctor provided M&A legal counsel to Sabel Systems, while Morrison & Foerster advised Sabel on government matters.
