Under the deal, future operations of the acquired company will primarily occur in San Diego, California, and Devaki Raj, CEO and co-founder of CrowdAI, will join Saab as chief digital and AI officer, the Swedish defense technology manufacturer said Thursday.
“As part of Saab, the team we’ve built will open new doors for dual-use technological advancement that aligns with the Department of Defense’s priorities,” remarked Raj.
Micael Johansson, president and CEO at Saab, said CrowdAI brings AI/ML capabilities to enhance Saab’s existing portfolio of technology offerings.
“[T]ogether with the recent acquisition of BlueBear in the United Kingdom, is another example of how we are meeting the emerging needs of our customers,” Johansson added.
