F135 Propulsion System Contract Scope

The Department of Defense said Friday the cost-plus-incentive-fee, fixed-price-incentive-fee modification expands the scope of the initial contract to include the production and delivery of 141 F135 propulsion systems. This supports the Lot 18 F-35 aircraft production for the Joint Strike Fighter program for the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, F-35 Cooperative Program partners and foreign military sales customers.

Work will be carried out at multiple locations in and outside the U.S., with an expected completion date of February 2028.

Prior F135 Contract Modification

In early August, Pratt & Whitney received a $115 million modification to the same F135 propulsion system contract. That prior contract modification called for the purchase of long-lead time materials for the production and delivery of F135 engine parts.
