The U.S. Navy has awarded Rolls-Royce a potential three-year, $407.8 million contract modification to provide MissionCare maintenance services for the AE1107C engines of the U.S. Marine Corps™ and U.S. Air Force™s V-22 Osprey aircraft.
MissionCare is a performance-based logistics approach that covers program management, site support, engine repair, engineering assistance and engine hourly charge based on flight hours, the Defense Departmentsaid Tuesday.
The AE 1107 engine works to power the Marines™ MV-22 tiltrotor aircraft and the Air Force™s CV-22 planes and has a two-shaft axial compressor design, self-contained oil system and two Full Authority Digital Engine Controls.
The Naval Air Systems Command will obligate funds upon award of individual task orders under the previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.
The company will perform work in California and Indiana through February 2020.
