Robert Winkler, a 25-year military and legislative service veteran, has been named vice president of corporate development and national security programs at Kratos Defense and Security Solutions (Nasdaq: KTOS).
He will aim to align the company’s development projects and communicate the potential of its offerings with the federal government, Kratos said Monday.
Winkler most recently served as a professional staff member on the Senate Armed Services Committee and oversaw space-related Department of Defense activities such as manned and unmanned aviation and hypersonic weapons development.
He worked at Harris Corp. for more than one year as director and senior principal of strategy and advanced technology, according to his LinkedIn profile.
His government experience also included time as special assistant to the director of the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency and director of the weapons systems division for the U.S. Air Force Legislative Liaison Office.
