Rick Ambrose to Retire as Lockheed Space EVP; Jim Taiclet Quoted

Rick Ambrose, executive vice president of Lockheed Martin’s (NYSE: LMT) space business and a six-time Wash100 Award winner, will retire in March 2022 after a two-decade career with the Bethesda, Maryland-based aerospace and defense contractor.

Jim Taiclet, chairman, president and CEO of Lockheed and a 2021 Wash100 Award recipient, said in a statement published Thursday the company is grateful for Ambrose’s contributions and strategic leadership of Lockheed’s $11 billion space portfolio that delivers technology platforms to civil, national security and commercial clients.

He started his career at Lockheed in 2000 as president of the information systems and global solutions-national business. He also served as VP and general manager of mission systems and sensors tactical systems and led the surveillance and navigation systems line of business as VP and GM.

Ambrose is a National Association of Corporate Directors Governance Fellow, a member of the Denver Museum of Nature & Science’s board of trustees and a Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

He will continue to serve in his current post until Lockheed names a successor and will serve as a strategic adviser to facilitate a smooth transition.
