Brian Durden Elevated to VP of Solutions Engineering at RGS

Brian Durden has been elevated to vice president of solutions engineering at Rancher Government Solutions.

RGS said Monday the promotion reflects its shift from offering individual technologies to delivering integrated, mission-ready platforms for U.S. government customers.

Who Is Brian Durden?

Durden is a technology and cloud architecture executive with over two decades of experience across government, defense and commercial sectors, with a background in embedded systems, DevSecOps and multi-cluster Kubernetes architectures. He has spent nearly four years at RGS in senior technical roles and previously held architecture positions at VMware, Pivotal Software and Inmarsat, following earlier work as a software engineer at Harris supporting government communications programs.

Under Durden’s direction, RGS expanded its edge portfolio with platforms such as Harvester Government hyperconverged infrastructure and Harvester Customizer, enabling unified management of virtualized and containerized workloads through a single Kubernetes control plane. These platforms are designed to support mission planning, sensor fusion, analytics and decision-support functions.

What Are Durden’s Responsibilities at RGS?

Durden will oversee the company’s product engineering and distributed edge efforts. He will focus on advancing integrated platforms for secure command-and-control operations in contested and disconnected environments.

“RGS is evolving to meet our customers where they operate,” said Jason Motte, chief growth officer at RGS. “That means moving beyond products to deliver full solutions that reduce operator burden and stand up to real-world mission demands. Brian has been a driving force behind this effort, and his leadership will be critical as we continue expanding our edge and platform capabilities.”
