John “Jay” Raymond, former chief of space operations of the U.S. Space Force, has joined Cerberus Capital Management as a senior managing director on the company’s supply chain and strategic opportunities platform.
The retired general will provide strategic guidance on a portfolio of investments in technology, aerospace and defense modernization areas, Cerberus said Wednesday.
Raymond led the Space Force from its inception in December 2019 until his retirement in November 2022 to conclude 38 years of military service.
His military career included leadership roles such as deputy chief of staff for operations at Headquarters U.S. Air Force and commander of Air Force Space Command.
“Cerberus is a renowned investor that is now at the vanguard of technology and security. With its approach of patient capital, subject-matter experts, and operational resources, I’m confident we can accelerate multi-dimensional value creation and innovation for partners,” said Raymond, a three-time Wash100 awardee.
