The State Department has issued a solicitation for a potential 10-year, $3.3B recompete contract to provide support services for the bureau of consular affairs, Bloomberg Government reported Wednesday.
The Global Support Strategy 2 contract covers offsite biometric collection, appointment scheduling, document delivery, consular fee collection, crowd management and onsite personnel responsible for applicant verification.
Proposals for the GSS-2 solicitation are due Nov. 9.
The report said General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) and CGI (NYSE: GIB) are the incumbents on the GSS contract and have received 44 task orders worth approximately $1.8B since the State Department awarded the contract in fiscal 2010.
