Red Hat has completed evaluation assurance level 4+ for the latest version of its JBoss enterprise application platform through a program aimed at ensuring compliance of information technology products with government security standards.
JBoss EAP 7.2 secured Common Criteria certification that covers regulated environments and security-sensitive interfaces used in the government and financial services sectors. The offering is designed to deliver and operate apps on-premises and in private, public or hybrid cloud environments.
Paul Smith, senior vice president and general manager of Red Hat’s public sector business and a 2019 Wash100 awardee, said the company is committed to ensuring its products meet security standards for sensitive applications and data, especially in highly regulated industries.
Atsec information security assisted Red Hat in the evaluation process via the Italian Common Criteria OCSI program.
The company achieved similar designation for version 6.2 of the platform.
