Raytheons (NYSE: RTN) integrated defense systems business has won a potential 10-year, $100.3M contract to help the U.S. Navy modernize GPS-based position, navigation and timing software for shipboard systems.
The indefinite-quantity/indefinite-delivery contract has a five-year base value of $61.5M and includes a three-year option period as well as an additional two-year option that would extend the performance period through November 2029, the Department of Defense said Friday.
Raytheon will develop, integrate and test global PNT service software to inform the creation of requirements for GPNTS, which is designed to process and transmit three-dimensional data such as acceleration, velocity, position, altitude, frequency and time for Navy vessels.
Naval Information Warfare Systems Command received two offers for the IDIQ and will obligate $3.4M in fiscal 2019 research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of award.
