Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has secured a $90.8 million contract to refurbish components on the U.S. Navy‘s fleet of F/A-18Hornet multirole aircraft.
The Defense Departmentsaid Tuesday that Raytheon will provide 206 retrofit components and four validation and verification kits for F/A-18 Configuration D as part of three engineering change proposals.
Hornet fighter jets are designed to support various air superiority, close and deep air support, fighter escort, forward air control, reconnaissance, day and night strike missions.
The Naval Air Systems Command will obligate the full contract amount from the service branch’s fiscal year 2016 and 2017 aircraft procurement funds.
Raytheon will perform work in California, Massachusetts and Mississippi through October 2019.
