Raytheon™s (NYSE: RTN) integrated defense systems business continue manufacturing fire control technology and equipment for the Aegis combat systems of U.S. and and Japanese navies under a $123.9M contract modification.
The award modifies a previously awarded contract intended to satisfy MK99 production requirements for fiscal 2018 and fiscal 2019 as part of the Aegis modernization program, the Department of Defense said Friday.
The Navy issued an $72.5M undefinitized contract action for these services in December 2018.
Raytheon will also provide kits to support a project to update the Aegis weapon system’s ballistic missile and anti-air warfare features designed to protect Arleigh Burke-class destroyers and Ticonderoga-class cruisers.
Funds for the modification will come from FY 2019 Navy, defense-wide procurement and foreign military sales funds, the Pentagon noted.
DoD expects the company to complete work by April 2023.
