Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has secured a $97.3M contract modification to support production and integration of radar systems designed to protect U.S. Navy vessels against multiple threats.
The service branch exercised an option for Raytheon’s integrated defense systems business to continue efforts to build, integrate and engineer AN/SPY-6(V) air and missile defense radars, the Department of Defense said Friday.
Other contract services include test, training, maintenance and software support. The Navy is obligating $27.1M at the time of award.
Work will take place at various locations in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, San Diego, New Jersey, Virginia and Hawaii through November 2020.
The company received a $357.8M initial contract in late 2018 for AN/SPY-6(V) support services. The radar system works to simultaneously defend seven ship classes from ballistic and cruise missile, aircraft and surface vessel threats.
