Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has secured a $90.4M contract from the U.S. Navy to design, integrate, test and assess a warhead technology for integration into the Tomahawk cruise missile system.
The company will provide engineering and manufacturing development services to the Navy's Joint Multiple Effects Warhead System program, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Naval Air Systems Command will initially obligate $7.5M from fiscal 2019 and fiscal 2020 research, development, test and evaluation funds.
Work will take place in Arizona, Ohio, Minnesota and West Virginia, through November 2023.
The latest variant of Raytheon's cruise missile platform is known as Block IV Tactical Tomahawk and equipped with a data link technology that guides the weapon in switching targets.
