The State Department has named Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) as prime contractor on a potential $197 million foreign military sale of equipment and services to modernize the Qatari air force’s Air Operation Center.
The proposed deal covers one Multifunctional Information Distribution System-Low Volume Terminal, Global Positioning System Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module chips and Simple Key Loaders, the Defense Security Cooperation Agencysaid Thursday.
Qatar also requested to procure High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptors; Link-16 ground support system components; infrastructure construction; cybersecurity services; technical and support facilities; training support and equipment; and logistics and program support services.
DSCA added the transaction would require the deployment of up to five U.S. government and 15 contractor representatives to Qatar.
The agency on Wednesday notified Congress of the possible sale.
