The U.S. Navy has awarded Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) a four-year, $402.6M contract modification to produce three air and missile defense radar systems.
Raytheon’s integrated defense systems business will provide the radars for installation on DDG 51 Flight III destroyer ships, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Work under the modification will occur in Marlborough, Mass., through March 2023.
Naval Sea Systems Command will use fiscal 2019 shipbuilding and conversion funds on this award.
The company said its AMDR platform employs modular assemblies and works to counter air, surface and ballistic missile threats.
The company received a $358M contract in late 2018 to build and integrate AN/SPY-6(V) radars.
