Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has secured a two-year, $121.5M contract modification to perform logistics and engineering services for the U.S. Navy's Zumwalt-class guided missile destroyers.
The service branch will initially obligate $18.9M from its fiscal 2020 operations and maintenance; shipbuilding and conversion; and fiscal 2019 research, development, test and evaluation funds, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
DDG 1000 vessels are designed to have firepower, signature reduction, survivability and self-defense systems and to support near-shore forces.
Work under the modification will take place in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine, Indiana, New Hampshire, Los Angeles and San Diego through January 2021.
