Raytheon to Supply Ukraine Additional Surface-to-Air Missile Systems Under $1.2B Army Contract

The U.S. Army has awarded Raytheon Technologies (NYSE: RTX) a $1.2 billion contract to deliver six more National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems, plus equipment and support services, to Ukraine as part of a Pentagon-led security assistance campaign.

The contract brings the U.S. government’s total order for NASAMS batteries to eight to help the Ukrainian military counter missile threats and drone attacks from Russia, the Army said Wednesday.

“NASAMS are just the latest in the diverse set of air-defense capabilities we are delivering to Ukraine,” said William LaPlante, undersecretary for acquisition and sustainment at the Department of Defense and a 2022 Wash100 Award winner.

“These are proven systems that will continue making a difference on the battlefield.”

Raytheon’s missiles and defense unit has delivered the first two NASAMS batteries to Ukraine as part of the third Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative package and the latest order will be part of the fifth USAI installment.

Contract work will take place in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, through Nov. 28, 2025, according to a Department of Defense notice.
