The Department of Defense said Wednesday the contract was competitively solicited online, with one bid submitted. The Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, oversees the contract and will provide work locations and funding allocations with each order. The contract is expected to be completed on Sept. 29, 2031.

Raytheon was awarded a $126.2 million contract in September 2024 for the procurement of Stinger missiles, ancillary equipment and support services. This contract is expected to run through April 2030. The company also booked a four-year, $624 million contract in May 2022 for 1,300 Stinger missiles, engineering support, test equipment and services for updating critical components and managing system obsolescence. The contract work is projected to conclude by June 30, 2026.
