The Department of Defense said Friday the company would perform the work for the project at its facility in Tucson, Arizona. The contract’s completion date is slated for Sept. 30, 2026.
The project will utilize the Marine Corps’ fiscal 2023 procurement funds along with the Army’s 2021 and 2023 other procurement funds. The Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal in Alabama, the contracting activity, will allocate the full amount at the time of the award.
Raytheon was also awarded a three-year, $322.5 million contract in August 2023 for the production of TOW 2B missiles, a specific variant of the TOW weapon system.

The TOW missile is a long-range anti-armor weapon system designed to defeat armored vehicles such as tanks and amphibious landing weapon systems, as well as heavily fortified structures and targets. It can be launched from various platforms, including helicopters, ground vehicles like the Stryker anti-tank guided missile vehicle and tripod-mounted launchers such as the ITAS launcher.
