A new PwC report says the value of mergers and acquisitions in the aerospace and defense sector worldwide reached $93.8B in 2019, reflecting a 62 percent increase from the previous year.
PwC said the global A&D sector recorded a total of 447 M&A transactions last year with an average deal size of $539.2M, showing a 68 percent rise from the prior year.
"Strong defense spending and commercial air travel trends appear to be supporting confidence in deal making and we see that confidence continuing into Q1 2020 absent any major heightening in the recent Middle East tensions or other geopolitical developments,” said Bob Long, U.S. aerospace and defense deals leader at PwC.
The report noted that C4ISR and modernization in the defense area is one of the “bright spots” expected to manifest in 2020.
