United Technologies Corp.˜s (NYSE: UTX) Pratt & Whitney subsidiary has received a three-year, $339.6 million contract modification from the U.S. Navy to provide initial spares for the F-35 propulsion system.
The Defense Departmentsaid Friday Pratt & Whitney will supply initial spare modules, parts and engines in support of the low-rate initial production of lot 11 F-35 aircraft.
DoD added the modification covers purchases from the Navy, the U.S. Air Force, international partners and foreign military sales customers.
The Naval Air Systems Command obligated $248.5 million in military aircraft procurement and FMS funds at the time of award.
Work will occur at various locations in Connecticut, Indiana and the U.K. through June 2020.
Pratt & Whitney was awarded a $167.5 million contract in November to provide long-lead components, parts and materials related to F135-PW-100 and F135-PW-600 propulsion systems.
