Polaris Alpha‘s EOIR Technologies subsidiary has secured a position on a five-year, $48 million contract that covers research, development and technical support services for the U.S. Navy‘s corporate laboratory.
The company said Wednesday the contract encompasses seven research fields and EOIR will vie for task orders under the optoelectronics category to support the Naval Research Laboratory’s electronics science and technology division.
Mark Coleman, vice president of electromagnetic warfare at EOIR, said the company aims to assist NRL in efforts to maintain battlefield spectrum dominance through new sensing and imaging methods.
NRL-ESTD works to create new electronic materials, devices, components and subsystems for next-generation platforms to support NRL, the Defense Department and other U.S. government organizations.
