Peter Sherlock
Peter Sherlock, formerly Mitre senior vice president for the Center for National Security Programs and Technology, has been promoted to chief operating officer at the nonprofit research company.
Mitre said Wednesday he will oversee finance, human resources, information technology, security, strategy and business analytics functions in his new position.
“Pete’s experience in a variety of roles inside Mitre, and elsewhere in industry, make him the right leader for this role,” said President and CEO Jason Providakes.
Sherlock also served as director of operations at Mitre’s facility in Bedford, Massachusetts, and will continue to represent the company within the state’s technology and healthcare communities.
His previous leadership roles at Mitre include vice president of the command and control center at the National Security Engineering Center; executive director for integration in the Defense Department‘s research and development center; and executive director of U.S. Army programs.
Sherlock originally joined Mitre in 1986 and held management and technical positions across the organization before he worked for General Instrument in various executive positions.
He co-founded an early-stage technology company before he returned to Mitre in 2003.
