The Low Earth Orbit Ground Sustainment Services contract has a five-year base term and three 12-month options and covers support for NOAA’s Joint Polar Satellite System Common Ground Services and enhancements to the agency’s LEO satellite constellations and partner missions, NOAA said Friday.
The vendor will perform contract work at its facilities and at NOAA sites in Maryland, Virginia, Nebraska, West Virginia and Alaska and is expected to commence work on March 1.
JPSS is a LEO program that collects and distributes environmental data derived from polar-orbiting satellites, including the Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership mission, NOAA-20 and NOAA-21.
NOAA said the JPSS Ground System is designed to provide command and control, communications and data processing services for missions associated with JPSS CGS.
