The Department of Defense plans to release by the end of August a draft solicitation for a potential 10-year, $11.7B single-award contract for information technology support services, Bloomberg Government reported Tuesday.
The Defense Information Services Agency will manage the proposed Defense Enclave Services contract, which will consolidate IT infrastructure, help desk support, cloud computing, network management and other IT services at DoD’s “fourth-estate” agencies to help the department improve information security, eliminate silos, enhance access to latest technology platforms and address duplicative spending.
“Our role here is to migrate these Defense Agencies from their legacy commodity IT networks to a single network we’re calling DoDNet, which DISA will operate,” program manager Col. Chris Autrey said during an industry day.
DoD intends to release a final draft of the request for proposals for the DES contract in September, accept responses sometime in the first quarter of fiscal year 2021 and award the contract by early FY 2022.
The Pentagon will evaluate proposals based on compliance with the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification and a plan to work with small businesses on the contract, among other criteria.
