The U.S. Army has selected Palantir Technologies (NYSE: PLTR) to further develop and deliver an intelligence data fabric and analytics platform in support of the Capability Drop 2 program.
The company said Tuesday it will field the Palantir Gotham Platform to serve as a data fabric and analytics tool for the service’s intelligence users worldwide.
The Palantir Gotham Platform is an operating system that could connect disparate sources and support decision-making functions. The capability could be used to support the transition of legacy programs to CD-2, which will help enable future modernization initiatives supporting joint all-domain operations.
The Denver-based software company said its platform will provide data integration, analytics, fusion and correlation capabilities to help the Army prepare for near-peer threats.
In February 2020, Palantir was one of the two companies that won spots on a potential seven-year, $823.3 million contract to support the Distributed Common Ground System-Army, the service’s centralized ground infrastructure for intelligence operations.
