The U.S. Army awarded the defense arm of Oshkosh(NYSE: OSK) a $141 million firm-fixed-price contract to manufacture A2 medium tactical trucks and trailers.
Contract work is projected to be completed by Nov. 30, 2024, and will be funded on a per-order basis, the Department of Defense said Friday.
The service branch uses the Oshkosh Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles to transport troops, supplies, and equipment, and to recover vehicles and weapons from military operations. FMTVs are available in 5-ton tractor, 5-ton wrecker, 10-ton dump, 8.8-ton load handling system, 4×4 and 6×6 cargo, and other variants.
Oshkosh Defense was selected by the branch out of two online bids for the procurement effort. Work locations will be determined upon the issuance of each task order. The Army Contracting Command at Detroit Arsenal, Michigan, is the contracting activity for the project.
