Dutch special transport builder Broshuis B.V. will serve as the main subcontractor in efforts to deliver as many as 466 trailers to the service branch over a five-year period, Oshkosh Defense said Monday.
EHETS is designed to be pulled by the Oshkosh-built HET A1 to transport tracked vehicles, including main battle tanks and other heavy equipment weighing up to 90 tons.
The Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command placed a $37.6 million initial task order for five test trailers the service branch will use in product verification and operational testing, and logistics and engineering development phases of the program.
Oshkosh will also provide 68 production trailers under the first order.
