Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) VMware (NYSE: VMW) are partnering to make the latter™s software and services available on the Oracle cloud infrastructure. The partnership seeks to help customers transfer workloads to a hybrid cloud environment through the use of offerings such as VMware™s vSphere and Cloud Foundation software suite, the company said Monday.
Oracle recently secured Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program certification to offer its cloud infrastructure to U.S. government clients.
Both companies plan to release an integrated cloud offering focused on software-based data center operations to support the modernization of applications as well as the migration of workloads from on-premise infrastructure to the Oracle cloud.
Under the collaboration, Oracle will be part of the VMware Cloud Provider Program and will provide technical support for offerings within the VMware environment.
