October 25th Market Close: GovConIndex and Major Indices Close Down

The Executive Mosaic GovCon Index (GCI) closed down for the third consecutive day to end at 109.566 off 0.129 percent with declining shares outpacing advancing 18 to 12.

The three major indices all declined for the day as investors respond to less than positive earnings reports and uncertainty about the potential passing of the Trump tax plan. The S&P500 closed down 0.47 percent to 2,557.15, while the DJIA closed at 23,329.46 off 0.48 percent and the NASDAQ Composite declined by 0.52 percent to 6,563.89.

WTI crude oil on the NY Mercantile Exchange moved downward by 0.50 percent to $52.21 per barrel.
