NRO said Wednesday its Electro-Optical Commercial Layer procurement effort is open to domestic businesses and the agency expects to issue multiple contract actions in early 2022 through the program.
“The EOCL RFP is the culmination of months of collaboration with our stakeholders and is critical to meeting the needs of the national and military intelligence community,” said Troy Meink, principal deputy director of NRO.
Pete Muend, director of NRO’s Commercial Systems Program, noted that license provisions in the EOCL program are intended to boost the accessibility and utilization of commercial imagery services across the intelligence community.
Awardees will be eligible to receive incentives for imagery innovation and technology development.
