Mike Edwards, formerly corporate director of space, intelligence and cyber at Northrop Grumman(NYSE: NOC), has joined Maxar Technologies‘ (NYSE: MAXR) DigitalGlobe business as vice president and senior adviser for defense programs.
DigitalGlobe said Thursday Edwards will report to President Dan Jablonsky andlead the satellite operator’s work with the Defense Department and partnerships with aerospace and defense firms.
He has worked with Northrop for 11 years in leadership positions encompassing the cyber, command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance areas.
Prior to joining industry in 2007, he held a 24-year career at the U.S. Air Force. His military career has included assignments at the Pentagon, where he led the Defense Department‘s interagency protection task force and the Defense Intelligence Agencys emerging threat working group.
The retired colonel has logged more than 3,300 flight hours and completed 83 combat sorties.
