Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has received a one-year, $349.6 million contract renewal from the U.S. Air Force to continue to provide integrated logistics support services for the military branch’s E-8C Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System fleet.
The company said Friday it will help the 116th and 461st air control wings sustain JSTARS units at Robins Air Force Base and other forward operating locations overseas as part of the total system support responsibility contract.
E-8C is designed to help battlefield commanders obtain situational information in real time and simultaneously transmit target locations to both aircraft and ground strike forces.
“We continue to collaborate closely with our customer to keep the high-demand E-8C fleet available and mission capable — ahead of emerging threats to support our combatant commanders,” said Bryan Lima, director of the manned C2ISR program at Northrop’s aerospace systems business.
The award represents TSSR Period Year 18 of the company’s work under the Joint STARS program.
Northrop will also continue to offer aircrew training, customer support, engineering technical support, program management, supply chain and spares management services to help maximize the aircraft for training and operational purposes.
