Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has received a five-year, $404M contract modification for software, engineering and product support work on the U.S. Navy’s airborne early warning and command-and-control aircraft platform.
The Navy exercised options on a previously awarded contract to procure E-2D Advanced Hawkeye support services and two additional aircraft under the eighth and ninth production lots, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
The branch awarded Northrop a $3.17B contract last year to build a total of 24 lots 7-11 AHE systems.
E-2D is designed to help the Navy manage its theater air and missile defense and provide battlespace awareness data to the warfighter.
