Northrop Books $99M Air Force Award for Additional F-16 Aircraft Radar Production

Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) will manufacture and deliver active electronically scanned array radars to the U.S. Air Force for its F-16 Fighting Falcon jets under a $99.3 million contract modification.

The Department of Defense said Monday the service branch exercises an option from the original contract to purchase 42 production radars as well as one initial and two readiness spare kits.

The full amount of the recent award will come from fiscal 2023 aircraft procurement funds. The modification brings the project’s total value to more than $1.3 billion.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center in Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is managing the contract, which is expected to be completed in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, by July 31, 2025.
