Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has received a $337.9 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the U.S. Navy to perform research and development, maintenance and other services in support of helicopter avionics.
The company will build, integrate and test H-1 Integrated Avionics Systems, and maintain and modernize it and other support equipment under the five-year IDIQ, the Department of Defense said Friday.
Northrop will also study H-1 alternatives and look into new avionics capabilities and irregularities. Work will be conducted mostly in Woodland Hills, California, through June 2027.
The IAS is designed to provide mission-critical data and enhance the H-1 aircraft pilot’s situational awareness and weapons accuracy. It has two open architecture mission computers.
The non-competitive contract has individual orders that will determine when will funds will be issued. The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division awarded the contract.
