Space Weather Observations – Mission Operations Services Contract Details
According to the request for proposals posted on SAM.gov Monday, the single-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract covers the procurement of a multi-mission operations service architecture to support all Space Weather Next, or SW Next, space weather environmental observation missions. Details regarding the required supplies and services will be provided at the task order level.
The contract’s base period will start on April 13, 2026, and is expected to be completed by April 12, 2031. If all options are exercised, the contract will run through April 12, 2036.
Under the proposed deal, the government will agree to a total minimum order of $100,000 during the contract’s term, while the total maximum value will be $396 million. The potential contractor is not required to accept any single order or combination of orders that exceeds the maximum amount.
Interested vendors can submit their proposals until Sept. 18.
The project was previously known as Space Weather Observations at L1, or SOL, and will be renamed Space Weather Observations at L1 to Advance Readiness, or SOLAR.
