NIST Seeks Participants for Zero-Trust Implementation R&D Program

The National Institute of Standards and Technology is looking for entities to participate in its program aimed at promoting the implementation of zero-trust architectures.

NIST’s National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence said Wednesday the Implementing a Zero Trust Architecture cybersecurity program comes as part of NCCoE’s efforts to collaborate with the information technology community in applying zero-trust to conventional and general-purpose IT infrastructures.

The agency said in a Federal Register notice that it intends to issue a cooperative research and development agreement to demonstrate cybersecurity approaches to zero-trust.

According to the notice, zero-trust architectures must include components encompassing data security, endpoint security, devices and network infrastructure, security analytics and identity and access management.

Interested participants may join the program my being a part of NCCoE’s community of interest or submitting a letter of interest to become a collaborator.

Program activities will begin no earlier than Nov. 20.
